It was the mid 90’s when we lived in a beautiful gray brick home on two acres of bare land. The yard was green and lush. My mother was dreaming, she dreamed of planting big trees in parts of the yard, and she dreamed of a beautiful gazebo.
When she told me about it, I made it my own dream too. To build a gazebo in my own backyard. I haven’t accomplished it yet, but maybe someday.
Today, I want to share with you a part of that dream.
If you live in a home that has any space for a gazebo, you should consider it. They are welcoming, relaxing, and a great place for a Christmas tree come December.
Now, if you don’t know where to start, I’ve collected 22 free DIY gazebo plans that you can follow to build your own gazebo.
Let’s get started.
1. The Raised Floor Gazebo
This gazebo looks like a scene out of paradise. It has a raised floor and an interesting roof line that catches your attention at first glance.
But once you step inside it has a great space for sitting, resting, or even sleeping. And to amp it up a notch, there is a cooler in the floor. What more could your heart desire in a gazebo?
2. The “Mighty Helpful” Gazebo Plans
This gazebo is gorgeous. It has benches inside of it for you to sit on. And you can also do as the picture does and place a little table and chairs out there to enjoy as well.
But what I find the best about this gazebo is the plans. They are ‘mighty helpful’ (as their tagline implies.) They are easy to read and shouldn’t be very difficult for those that have carpentry skills. And even if you don’t, with the helpful tips you’ll hopefully find great success in this project.
